Bridal Services

Memories and photos from your perfect wedding day may fade, but the beauty of your wedding gown can remain intact for decades to come. A daughter or granddaughter may someday slip on that same dress when she decides to tie the knot. Cleaning and preserving your gown the right way now will ensure it remains beautiful for her in the future.

MuseumCare™ Cleaning and Preservation

Classic Cleaners is a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists, enabling us to offer MuseumCare™ preservation, an advanced process endorsed by the Association of Bridal Consultants.  Click here to view a video about the MuseumCare™ preservation process.

When you visit us with your wedding gown, we first provide you with a free evaluation, letting you know exactly what to expect from the process. The steps in the MuseumCare™ preservation process are as follows:

Step 1: Hand cleaning. We gently clean each gown individually, protecting delicate beads, embroidery, and lace.

Step 2: Anti-sugar stain treatment. Spills containing sugar, salt and acids often dry clear but turn an ugly brown over time. Our anti-sugar stain treatment completely removes all of these stains, which do not dissolve during ordinary dry cleaning. This stage is a complete anti-acid conditioning and is crucial to preserving your gown.

Step 3: Inspection of gown. We inspect your gown before we preserve it to ensure it meets our rigorous standards. We also welcome you to inspect the gown before the final step. We use gloves during every stage of the preservation process. At this point, we will give you a pair of gloves to keep for inspecting the gown now and in the future.

Step 4: Storage in archival-quality preservation box. Vacuum seals, plastics and other seemingly harmless materials and methods can damage your gown over time. We layer your gown with acid-free tissue and carefully fold it into an acid-free, archival-quality preservation box. We store metal buttons and findings and shoulder pads separately, stuffing the sleeves, bodice and folds with additional acid-free tissue to prevent hard wrinkles. The preservation box, designed especially for this purpose, allows the gown to breathe, keeping it in perfect condition for many decades to come.

Our guarantee. You will receive a written 100 percent guarantee against sugar stains and yellowing. (If at any time in the future stains appear or discoloration occurs, we or any participating specialist in more than 500 cities around the world will restore the gown for free.) In addition, when the gown is to be worn again, any participating specialist will inspect and press the dress at no additional charge.

MuseumCare™ preservation is the best way to preserve your dress for the next generation and beyond. Please visit us today for a free consultation!

Gown Restoration

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to return your grandmother’s, your mother’s or your own treasured wedding gown to its former beauty? Our restoration experts regularly work miracles, restoring the pure white and cream colors of gowns that have been yellow for decades.

Using the same technologies and methods proven in our MuseumCare™ wedding gown preservation process, our experts gently clean your gown, removing ancient stains and yellowing. Depending on the extent of damage, we may be able to repair the fabric, lace, beads and other areas as needed. The goal is always to make the gown just as beautiful as the day it was first worn.

After the restoration process, we can press and prepare the dress for immediate use, or we can preserve it in an archival-quality preservation box for a future ceremony.

Please visit us today. We are happy to provide a free consultation about restoring your heirloom wedding gown at any of our locations.

Before and after. The photographs on this page are of a dress that we half-restored to show the amazing difference between “before” and “after.” When we are not displaying this dress at a bridal show, it may be viewed at our Bash Street headquarters.

The “before” side of the dress is of a flat and deeply ingrained yellow that one would never suppose could be removed. In contrast, the restored side is of a beautiful cream color that shines with its original luster.
