Who uses lockers at Classic Cleaners?
June 7, 2011
Most of our 17 Indianapolis-area stores provide a convenience-adding, fee-free locker system that gives customers the ability to drop off and pick up orders 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The service is super secure and is available even when our stores aren’t staffed, so it’s no surprise that so many customers love our lockers.
Here’s an idea of some customers who find the lockers to be quite valuable:
Tireless professionals. These customers typically arrive at work early and leave late. Their free time is virtually non-existent and there’s little chance they’re near a store during normal hours of operation. Exhausted, they stop by their designated, PIN-secured locker at all hours of the night for fresh clothes.
Vampires. Luckily, cloaks in need of a cleaning can be dropped off and retrieved under the shelter of darkness. These customers typically prefer to do business at night, when there are fewer obstacles and discretion is a requirement.
Travelers. Whether traveling for business or leisure, these customers are always on-the-go. On the way to or from the airport, orders in need of clean can be dropped off and freshly cleaned orders can be picked up – all at the customers’ convenience.
Second shift-ers. Working through the night and sleeping through the day sometimes makes it difficult to run errands and complete chores. But unusual work schedules shouldn’t prevent you from being dressed to impress.

At Classic Cleaners, the Rewards Go to the Fleet!
March 21, 2011
”The race is not to the swift,” the Bible tells us. But when it comes to dry cleaning in and around Indianapolis, the race may be to the fleet! That’s because, twice a week, our Classic Cleaners fleet of vans visits homes and offices all around the Indianapolis area to pick up and deliver items for our customers.
Our newly decorated vans, proudly displaying the Classic Cleaners motto “The Modern Craft of Clean”, travel from Fortville on the east, Pittsboro to the west, Cicero to the north, and 42nd Street in Indianapolis on the south. It all adds up to thousands of locations, tens of thousands of garments, and twelve different routes.
How does the “fleetness” work?
- You sign up for the free home or office delivery service.
- You’re provided with large clothing bags.
- A Classic Cleaners driver visits twice a week to pick up and deliver. (There is absolutely no obligation to have anything to pick up every time.)
- If you’re not at home, your clothes can be left on special hanger hooks (which we provide to slip over the top of your door), with Fluff and Fold laundry left in recyclable boxes. Or, you may choose to give the driver access to hang your clothes in a front closet, mud room, or garage.
Fast, convenient, efficient, and……clean! As a Classic Cleaners customer, you’ll soon realize: The race may not be to the swift, but the real service IS to the fleet!

From Classic Cleaners in McCordsville Comes More Wedding Folklore
March 17, 2011
The story we shared in our blog about Classic Cleaners Eagle Creek bride who spotted a rainbow on her way to the church inspired one of our clients from the other end of Indianapolis to tell us about a piece of folklore that caused her to change her own wedding plan.
In modern times, we’re finding, people pay less attention to folklore. When it comes to weddings, though, traditions
and even superstitions continue to play a part in the planning. Of course, no one really knows for sure whether certain things bring good luck or bad, but, as the website weddings.lovetoknow.com explains, brides don’t want to take a chance!
One loyal Classic Cleaners customer in McCordsville recalled originally planning to have each of her bridesmaids dress in a different jewel-tone shade, with the groomsmen in bowties to match, and the same colors replicated in her bouquet and in the table decorations. That most original and colorful concept was scrapped when an aunt shared with her that it would bring bad luck if the bridesmaids weren’t all in the same color dresses. Not actually “buying” that story, our customer nonetheless had all her attendants wear the same color.
Early bridesmaids actually wore dresses similar to the bride’s in order to confuse evil spirits who might want to harm the bride or cause mischief. In fact, we learned, that’s why the groomsmen were there as well!
Another wedding custom related to color choices has some tradition behind it as well – the boutonniere. In medieval times, when a lady fancied a particular knight, she’d give him a token – a scarf, flower, or ribbon – to carry into battle. The knight was said to be “wearing her colors”.
As you can tell, at Classic Cleaners, we’re really into weddings. As a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists, we can offer MuseumCare™ preservation of wedding gowns, an advanced process endorsed by the Association of Bridal Consultants. At Classic Cleaners, we may not be superstitious, but we love to keep wedding traditions alive!
Do you have a favorite wedding-related superstition or tradition? Please share it with us. We want all our readers to have good luck!

Along With Orville Redenbacher, Classic Cleaners Gets Complex to Simplify Customers’ Lives
February 17, 2011
“Consumers aren’t just time-pressed – we’re downright lazy,” according to USA Today. As one sign of the times, USA Today points to ConAgra, maker of Orville Redenbacher Popcorn. Next month, the company will roll out the PopUp Bowl, microwave popcorn that pops into a convenient one-serving bowl.
Classic Cleaners is several jumps ahead of the popcorn maker when it comes to using the latest and most complex technology to make customers’ lives simple.
Time-saving:
Our innovative heat seal system has been in place for more than a year. Heat seals guarantee we know exactly – every time – which garments belong to which customers. Zero time is wasted collecting garments – our order and bagging system is all computerized.
Convenience:
Popcorn buyers need to take the product off a grocery store shelf. Classic Cleaners’ customers, by contrast, can choose our FREE pickup and delivery service!
Quality:
No matter how innovative the microwave bowl, the way to eaters’ hearts is through their stomachs – the popcorn must be delicious to keep the clients loyal. At Classic Cleaners we know all about the quality our customers expect, and we deliver clothes as close to new as possible.
Our equipment represents th very latest in dry cleaning and laundering technology Our Unipress shirt machine, for example yields the kind of results that cannot be duplicated by most competitors.
The 2011 trend towards simplicity and speed? At Classic Cleaners we’ve been “on it” before it was a trend! Most important, though, once you’ve finished ooh-ing and ah-ing over the technology, are the beautifully finished clothes, ready to make you proud!
